Cajun Music is bound by an ancient spirit.  Somewhere between interlocked fiddle lines and accordion embellishments, in the spaces of silence between the notes, between the ringing tone of the 'tit fer, the triangle, there is a soulful space where musicians and listeners visit one another.  This space, and the dancers and musical instruments that move around it, holds the emotional legacy of the Cajun culture.

BeauBassin reaches for this space.  Their instrumental lines carry the legacy forward, through laughter and heartbreak, from one night to the next.

Fifty-one year old accordionist and vocalist Kermit Venable leads BeauBassin through its diverse repertoire.  A native of Acadiana, Venable is fluent in French dialects and known to many as a walking encyclopedia of Cajun songs (over 500 at last count).  A local radio and TV personality, Venable has traveled to Europe to perform his music and toured Japan as part of the cast of Labor of Love, a Japanese-American musical centered on rice farming.

Fiddler and producer Jonno Frishberg approaches Cajun music from a different angle.  A native of Arizona, he began his touring career as a member of The District of Columbia Youth Orchestra before moving to Louisiana, where he has worked with the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra and the University of Southwestern Louisiana Orchestra.  A teacher as well as a student of Cajun fiddle, Frishberg has played with over a dozen Cajun artists, from BeauSoliel to Dewey Balfa.  Formerly a member of Acadiana bands Zydeco Five-O, Cajun Brew and Mamou, Frishberg has recorded with Sonny Landreth, Richard Thompson, Michael Doucet, Mamou and Danny Collet & The Louisiana Swamp Cats.  Most recently, Frishberg's playing accompanied the world premier of the ballet Feu Follet, a work inspired by the history of the Cajun people.

The BeauBassin lineup is completed by lifelong friends Bo Ledet on bass and vocals and Dwight Galiano on drums.  Both New Orleans natives, the men share a Cajun ancestry and a budding career in Cajun music, begun several years ago with bandleader Don Duet.

BeauBassin, translated "beautiful basin," takes its name from the low, fertile area north of Lafayette, said to be the ancient river bottom of the meandering Mississippi.  The region was once home to both Kermit Venable and the real life character upon which Longfellow's Evangeline is based.  The area is imbued with a simple, direct spirituality, and it's from that region and the elusive, inspirational legacy of Cajun music that these traditional and original compositions are drawn.

April March - Chick Habit - HD

April March (born Elinor Blake on April 20, 1965) is an American singer-songwriter who sings in English and French. She is widely known for the song "Chick Habit", which was featured in the films But I'm a Cheerleader and Death Proof.

She has also been a cartoon animator, including a stint as a principal animator for the Ren and Stimpy show.

She was married to Warren Zanes, musician and former Vice-President of Education at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, in Cleveland, Ohio, and has two sons . They have since filed for divorce

As a child, Blake became fascinated with France, and in junior high participated in an exchange program in France. She graduated from Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts in 1983, after which she moved back to New York City to become a cartoon animator. March worked as an animator for Archie Comics and Pee Wee's Playhouse; in 1986 she worked on the Madonna feature Who's That Girl, animating the star in the title sequence and the contemporaneous music video. Her first band, The Pussywillows, was formed in 1987; March took a year off to attend the Disney-founded Character Animation program at the California Institute of the Arts. In 1991 the Pussywillows broke up and March formed The Shitbirds, which lasted until 1995. Since then, March has recorded as a solo artist, and has appeared on some motion picture soundtracks, as well as performing the theme song for the Cartoon Network series I Am Weasel.

Her albums contain songs sung in both English and French, and her style is heavily influenced by French 1960s pop music.

Her best known work is the English translation of the Serge Gainsbourg song, "Laisse tomber les filles", renamed as "Chick Habit." The song has since been featured in the 1999 campy teen comedy But I'm a Cheerleader, and was brought to wider audiences in Quentin Tarantino's 2007 film Death Proof; it was also used as the backing music to television advertisements for the Renault Twingo in the UK and in France in 2008.

March has recently collaborated in the U.S. with the Dust Brothers, and in France with Bertrand Burgalat. Her latest album, a collaboration with Steve Hanft, is called Magic Monsters. It became available via iTunes, Amazon.com, and other digital music distributors on 22 April 2008. The album is available on vinyl format on the label Martyrs of Pop.

Michael Jackson - Heal The World - HD

"Heal the World" is a song from Michael Jackson's hit album, Dangerous, released in 1991. The music video (directed by Joe Pytka) features children living in countries suffering from unrest, especially Burundi. It is also one of only a handful of Michael Jackson's videos not to feature Jackson himself, the others being "Cry", "HIStory" and "Man in the Mirror". (The clips for "HIStory" and "Man in the Mirror" only feature Michael Jackson in archival footage). The version of the video included on Dangerous: The Short Films and Michael Jackson's Vision contains an introductory video that features a speech from Jackson taken from the special "spoken word" version of the track. This version was not included on Video Greatest Hits -- HIStory featuring the music video. Jackson performed the song in the Super Bowl XXVII halftime show with a 35,000 person flash card performance.

In a 2001 Internet chat with fans, Jackson said "Heal the World" is the song he was most proud to have created. He also created the Heal the World Foundation, a charitable organization which was designed to improve the lives of children. The organization was also meant to teach children how to help others. This concept of 'betterment for all' would become a centerpiece for the Dangerous World Tour. In the documentary Living with Michael Jackson, Jackson said he created the song in his "Giving Tree" at Neverland Ranch.

An ensemble performance of "We Are the World" and "Heal the World" closed Jackson's memorial service at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on July 7, 2009. The song was performed as rehearsed by Jackson at the venue just weeks earlier, in preparation for his planned "This Is It" tour in London along with "Dirty Diana". R&B singer Ciara sung the song as a tribute to Jackson at the 2009 BET Awards.

The song was played at the funeral of James Bulger, and Jackson also donated the song to be used as the anthem for the charity the James Bulger Red Balloon Center, a school for children to go to if they are being bullied or have learning difficulties.

Wyclef Jean - Sweetest Girl (The Exotic Dancer Video) HD

The terms exotic dancer and exotic dance can have different meanings in different parts of the world and depending on context. In the erotic sense, "exotic dance" is often used to refer to practitioners of striptease. In a non-erotic sense, it can mean many forms of foreign or cultural dance.

In a non-erotic sense, the word "exotic" applies to the fact that something is out of the ordinary or perceived by spectators as unusual. It can also apply to those dancers who master a rare or largely lost art form, including whirling dervishes, shaman dancers and religious dancers. Middle Eastern dance is often referred to as exotic dance in this way, though its use of hip/pelvic movement and isolation often results in its conflation with exotic dance in the erotic sense.

Other forms of exotic dance are aerial dance, many forms of experimental dance, pogo, breakdance and all other dance forms with unconventional movements. Strictly speaking, many anarchistic dance forms in wild parties can be considered as exotic dance, when movements take place that are not used in standard or Latin dance.

In an erotic sense, the term "exotic dance" is used as a synonym for erotic dancing.
