Thompson Twins - Hold Me Now - HD
"Hold Me Now" is a song by British pop/New Wave band the Thompson Twins. Written by the band members, the song was produced by Alex Sadkin, and the group's lead vocalist Tom Bailey. It was released in November 1983 as the first single of their fifth studio album, Into The Gap. The song is a new wave ballad that uses a varied instrumentation, including a xylophone, a piano and Latin percussion.
Released in the United Kingdom in late 1983, the song peaked at number four on the UK Singles Chart in November of that year, and was certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) in 1983, becoming the band's biggest-selling single, and their first top five in that country. The song was released in the United States in February 1984. It became the band's highest charting single, peaking at number three on the Billboard Hot 100 in May, and remained in the chart for twenty-one weeks. In addition, the song topped Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play chart for one week in April 1984.
In 1983, after the commercial success of their third album Quick Step and Side Kick, the Thompson Twins collaborated again with producer Alex Sadkin to record Into the Gap at Compass Point Studios, in the Bahamas. Bailey and Sadkin co-produced the album including "Hold Me Now", which according to Bailey "had a very strong idea" behind it and was written very quickly.
When they were going to record the song, Bailey said that he was excited, nervous, and "almost over-prepared for it", he knew exactly what instruments were going on every track; it took three days to record. Before the release the song was remixed by Sadkin at RAK Studios, in London. About the process Bailey commented: "You know what a great producer is? It's someone who takes great ideas and makes them into good records. In our field, great music is a hit record." The song became the Thompson Twins' biggest hit in America, but at the same time it pressured the band to produce top-selling music, even if they were not completely comfortable with that, as Alannah Currie stated in an interview with David Oriard of The Spokesman-Review: The biggest trouble that we've had basically is that the song, "Hold me Now" was a huge hit, it was really big here, it was really big all over the world. Which is great, but it was just an accidental thing. It was just a song that we wrote. But after that then, we got everybody—managers, the record company—on our back to write "Hold me Now, Part 2" and harassing you to try and find a formula. But we can't really. We'll never find a formula for what we did. And that upsets some of them.
"Hold Me Now" was released in the United Kingdom in November 1983, debuting on the UK Singles Chart at number thirty-one, peaking at number four, and staying in the chart for fifteen weeks. It became the band's first top five in the country, and their biggest seller earning a gold certification by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) in January 1984. The song was a moderate hit in Europe, reaching the top ten in Germany and Ireland, and peaking at eighteen in Switzerland.
The single was released in North America in February 1984. In Canada the single entered the RPM singles chart at number forty-three, peaking at number three on 28 April 1984. The Canadian Recording Industry Association (CRIA) certified "Hold Me Now" gold in May 1984. In the United States the single entered the Billboard Hot 100 on 11 February 1984 at number seventy-three, peaking at number three on 5 May 1984, and staying twenty-one weeks on the chart, becoming the band's biggest hit in the country. In addition, it topped Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play chart for a week on 28 April 1984, becoming the band's third number-one single on this chart.

If you didn't know it, I am a huge Elvis fan. Aspiring musicians should remember that Elvis was poor white trash, living with his parents when his music was first broadcast on the radio, and the rest is history. Whether you like his music or not, no one can disagree that he became successful purely on his talent. And he had a great passion for his art - music.

"Better in Time" is a pop and R&B song performed by British singer Leona Lewis. It was written by J. R. Rotem and Andrea Martin, and was produced by Rotem. It is featured on Lewis's debut album Spirit (2007). "Better in Time" was released on 10 March 2008 as Lewis's third single in the United Kingdom, as a double A-side with "Footprints in the Sand". It was also Lewis's second international single following her hit "Bleeding Love" (2007). Lyrically, "Better in Time" tells the story of a girl who cannot forget her ex-partner, and who knows that "it will all get better in time".
Lewis promoted the song on several live television programmes, such as Good Morning America, Live with Regis and Kelly, and on the 2008 American Music Awards, and it was included on the set list of her debut concert tour The Labyrinth (2010). The music video was filmed by Sophie Muller in February 2008; it shows Lewis performing in front of several photographic set-ups, and shows what goes on behind the scenes of them. Receiving generally positive reviews by music critics, it was nominated at the Brit Awards in the category "Best British Single". "Better in Time" reached number two in the national music charts of Germany and the United Kingdom, as well as the top ten in several countries, including Australia, Canada, Ireland, Italy and New Zealand. The single was certified gold in Australia, Denmark and Germany, and silver in the UK.

A few weeks ago Greg from Orange Tree Samples was so kind to send me a pre-release of his upcoming Evolution Acoustic Guitar - Steel Strings (EAG) product (http://www.orangetreesamples.com/evolution-acoustic-guitar-steel-strings).
I set it up so that the first six percussion keys of the Alpha correspond to the strings of an actual guitar for which I play the chords on the upper split of the keyboard with the EAG strum instrument. The lower split of the main keyboard also uses EAG but with the lead instrument to play the melody line. I also use a foot pedal to sustain notes and chords when needed.
I'm really amazed by how natural the combination of the Eigenharp Alpha together with Evolution Acoustic Guitar feels. You can strum, pick, release chords to play muted strums, do hammer-ons and pull-offs, ... etc.
I'll be looking at an even tighter integration to correctly play up and down stroke samples based on the direction by which you're strumming over the percussion keys ... stay tuned.

Verse I:
I'm sick 'n tired of the past
All I want now's to relax
Forget about you and them, her and him,

I'm strong enough to survive
I'm strong enough to revive
I won't let your words to haunt me
I won't let your deeds to drag me
Back to the lies 'n cries 'n bad
Back to the days when you made me sad
You're not worth it.
Not at all.
You ain't nothing.
You ain't got balls!
Bridge:
Damn. Stop your talk! (hahah)
You know I grew up and I moved on...
That's why I'm leaving you behind

With my very different thinking
With my zero-for-you feeling.
There's lot of things that you don't know

"Girls Just Want to Have Fun" is a song written by Robert Hazard. It was the first major single released by singer Cyndi Lauper as a solo artist. It gained recognition as a feminist anthem, an award-winning video and a worldwide hit. It has been covered on either an album or in live concert by over 30 other artists. It was her breakthrough hit, reaching number two on the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks. It remains one of her signature songs and is considered[by whom?] one of the most defining songs to have been released in the '80s. The Rolling Stone, MTV and VH1: Rolling Stone: The 100 Top Music Videos and MTV: 100 Greatest Videos Ever Made ranked at #22, #39 and #45, respectively.] It received a Grammy Award nomination for Record of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

The O'Jays are an American R&B group from Canton, Ohio, formed in 1963 and originally consisting of Eddie Levert (born June 16, 1942), Walter Williams (born August 25, 1942), William Powell (January 20, 1942 -- May 26, 1977), Bobby Massey and Bill Isles. The O'Jays were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2004, and The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005. The O'Jays had their first hit with "Lonely Drifter", in 1963. In spite of the record's success, the group was considering quitting the music industry until Gamble & Huff, a team of producers and songwriters, took an interest in the group. With Gamble & Huff, the O'Jays (now a trio after the departure of Isles and Massey) emerged at the forefront of Philadelphia soul with "Back Stabbers" (1972), and topped the Billboard Hot 100 the following year with "Love Train".
Bob Marley - Redemption Song - HD
Redemption Song from ne033x on Vimeo.
"Redemption Song" is a song by Bob Marley. It is the final track on Bob Marley & the Wailers' ninth album, Uprising, produced by Chris Blackwell and released by Island Records. The song is considered one of Marley's seminal works, with some key lyrics derived from a speech given by the Pan-Africanist orator Marcus Garvey.
At the time he wrote the song, circa 1979, Bob Marley had been diagnosed with the cancer that later was to take his life. According to Rita Marley, "he was already secretly in a lot of pain and dealt with his own mortality, a feature that is clearly apparent in the album, particularly in this song".
Unlike most of Bob Marley's tracks, it is strictly a solo acoustic recording, consisting of Marley singing and playing an acoustic guitar, without accompaniment. In subsequent live performances, however, a full band was used. A full band rendition of "Redemption Song" was made available as a bonus track on the 2001 reissue of Uprising, as well as featuring on the 2001 compilation One Love: The Very Best of Bob Marley & the Wailers. However, the solo performance remains the take most familiar to listeners.
In 2004, Rolling Stone placed the song at #66 among The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. In 2010, the New Statesman listed it as one of the Top 20 Political Songs.
The song urges listeners to "Emancipate yourself from mental slavery," because "None but ourselves can free our minds". These lines were taken from a speech given by Marcus Garvey in Nova Scotia during October 1937 and published in his Black Man magazine: We are going to emancipate ourselves from mental slavery because whilst others might free the body, none but ourselves can free the mind. Mind is your only ruler, sovereign. The man who is not able to develop and use his mind is bound to be the slave of the other man who uses his mind ...
In 2009, Jamaican poet and broadcaster Mutabaruka chose "Redemption Song" as the most influential recording in Jamaican music history.
Supertramp - The Logical Song (historical photos slideshow)
The Logical Song from ne033x on Vimeo.
"The Logical Song" is a hit single on Supertramp's 1979 album Breakfast in America, sung by band member Roger Hodgson. It is the band's biggest chart hit in both the United States and their native United Kingdom, and is among their most widely recognized radio hits.
"The Logical Song" was a hit on its original release, reaching number 7 in the United Kingdom, number 6 in the United States and spent two weeks at number 1 on the Canadian RPM Singles Chart. It stayed for three months on the Billboard Hot 100 in the summer of 1979.Rolling Stone called it a "small masterpiece" praising the "hot sax" and Hodgson's "wry humor".] The magazine also made comparisons between Hodgson and Ray Davies from The Kinks. Roger Hodgson: Lead and backing vocals, Wurlitzer electric piano, electric and 12-string acoustic guitars. Rick Davies: Elka and Oberheim synthesizers, Hammond organ, Hohner Clavinet with wah-wah, backing vocal. John Helliwell: Alto saxophone, siren whistle, backing vocal, intro breathing. Bob Siebenberg: Drums, castanets, timbales, cowbell. Dougie Thomson: Bass
Rolling Stones - Waiting On A Friend (glamour slideshow)
Waiting On A Friend from ne033x on Vimeo.
It was first played as early as 1970, when Mick Taylor first joined the group and was recording with Jagger in London. Recording on "Waiting on a Friend" began in late 1972 through early 1973 in Kingston, Jamaica, during the Goats Head Soup sessions when the band still had Taylor as a member. His guitar piece made it to the overdubbing sessions in April 1981 when the song was selected by Tattoo You producer Chris Kimsey as one the band could re-work for the album.
96-98 St. Mark's Place
In the liner notes to 1993's compilation album Jump Back, Jagger said, "We all liked it at the time but it didn't have any lyrics, so there we were... The lyric I added is very gentle and loving, about friendships in the band." Jagger also had stated that the 1981 lyrics were contemplated for a future possible video, making the song the first Rolling Stones single to be packaged as a possible video for the emerging MTV channel.
The video, directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg (who also directed their 1968 special The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus), became very popular on MTV and featured reggae artist Peter Tosh sitting on a stoop with Jagger who is seen waiting on Richards. The building is found at 96-98 St. Mark's Place in Manhattan, which is the same building featured on the album cover of Led Zeppelin's Physical Graffiti. The video also features Ronnie Wood playing Mick Taylor's part (similar to the videos for "Hot Stuff" and "Worried About You," in which Wood is imitating the guitar playing of Harvey Mandel and Wayne Perkins respectively).
The lyrics see a more mature side of singer Mick Jagger represented. He speaks of setting aside women and vices in favor of making some sense of his life and finding the virtues inherent in true friendship:
" Don't need a whore, I don't need no booze, don't need a virgin priest. But I need someone I can cry to, I need someone to protect "
The song is noted for its dreamy qualities brought on by the soft guitars, smooth rhythm, and Jagger's lilting refrain of "doo-doo-doo"'s. The song contains a guitar intro with one bar in 7/4 at the very beginning, staying in 4/4 for the rest of the song. Stones-recording veteran Nicky Hopkins performs the track's running piano. The Rolling Stones hired jazz saxophonist Sonny Rollins to perform the solo on this song, as well as two others on the album. On his addition to the track, Jagger said in 1985; "I had a lot of trepidation about working with Sonny Rollins. This guy's a giant of the saxophone. Charlie said, 'He's never going to want to play on a Rolling Stones record!' I said, 'Yes he is going to want to.' And he did and he was wonderful. I said, 'Would you like me to stay out there in the studio?' He said, 'Yeah, you tell me where you want me to play and DANCE the part out.' So I did that. And that's very important: communication in hand, dance, whatever. You don't have to do a whole ballet, but sometimes that movement of the shoulder tells the guy to kick in on the beat.

Substance abuse, also known as drug abuse, refers to a maladaptive pattern of use of a substance that is not considered dependent. The term "drug abuse" does not exclude dependency, but is otherwise used in a similar manner in nonmedical contexts. The terms have a huge range of definitions related to taking a psychoactive drug or performance enhancing drug for a non-therapeutic or non-medical effect. All of these definitions imply a negative judgment of the drug use in question (compare with the term responsible drug use for alternative views). Some of the drugs most often associated with this term include alcohol, amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines (particularly temazepam, nimetazepam, and flunitrazepam), cocaine, methaqualone, and opioids. Use of these drugs may lead to criminal penalty in addition to possible physical, social, and psychological harm, both strongly depending on local jurisdiction. Other definitions of drug abuse fall into four main categories: public health definitions, mass communication and vernacular usage, medical definitions, and political and criminal justice definitions.
Substance abuse is a form of substance-related disorder.

Never Took The Time from ne033x on Vimeo.
A moment ago it seemed
It was yesterday
You were here with me
And everything seems to be the same
What am I supposed to do
With all these empty rooms?
Sit here in solitude
With the smell of your perfume
Ya never took the time to know me
Ya never took the time to understand
Ya never took the time to know me
Yeah
Cause lovin' you is all I ever had
Still lovin' you is all I ever have
This wasn't what I wanted to be
A man in misery
Girl I look back a thousand times
And can't believe that you left me
Why you leave me baby
Why can't you understand my pain
How can I explain
Girl I don't know what I'm doin' wrong
I can't believe that your love is gone
Cause you never took the time to know me
Said you never took the time to know me
You never took the time to understand
Oh
Oh yeah
Said you never took the time to know me
Said you never took the time to know me
See lovin' you is all I ever had
Baby lovin' you is all I ever had
Ooh yeah
You're all I need
You're all I see
And I wish that we could do it again
Cause you never took the time to know
Baby you never took the time to know me
You never took the time to understand
Oh oh
Yeah
Said you never took the time to know me
Yeah
Because of you now I'm just a lonely man
Oh
Because of you now I'm just a lonely man

"Down Under" (also known as "Land Down Under") is a pop song recorded by Men at Work for their debut album Business as Usual (1981). The song went to #1 on American, British, and Australian charts.
It was reissued in 1982, and is the only Men at Work song to go to #1 in the United Kingdom, and their only single to make the UK top 20. It has become a popular and patriotic song in Australia.

John Wetton - Lead Vocals, Bass
Carl Palmer - Drums
Geoff Downes - Keyboards
Steve Howe - Guitars
The lyrics are posted below:
I never meant to be so bad to you
One thing I said that I would never do
A look from you and I would fall from grace
And that would wipe the smile right from my face
Do you remember when we used to dance
And incidents arose from circumstance
One thing led to another we were young
And we would scream together songs unsung
It was the heat of the moment
Telling me what my heart meant
The heat of the moment showed in your eyes
And now you find yourself in '82
The disco hot spots hold no charm for you
You can concern yourself with bigger things
You catch a pearl and ride the dragon's wings
'Cause it's the heat of the moment
The heat of the moment
The heat of the moment showed in your eyes
And when your looks are gone and you're alone
How many nights you sit beside the phone
What were the things you wanted for yourself
Teenage ambitions you remember well
It was the heat of the moment
Telling me what your heart meant
The heat of the moment showed in your eyes
It was the heat of the moment
The heat of the moment
The heat of the moment showed in your eyes
Heat of the moment
Heat of the moment
Heat of the moment
Heat of the moment...

Where were you when I needed you?
Well, you could not be found
What can I do?Oh, I believed in you
You're running me around
Well you can take it as a warning
Or take it any way you like
It's the lightening, not the thunder
You never know when it's going to strike
Our love's in jeopardy, baby
Oooooooo
Our love's in jeopardy, baby
Oooooooo
Don't be cute, don't be funny now
It's later than you think
Oh what's the use? Oh save your money now
It's hanging on the brink
Don't let go while I'm hanging on
Cuz I've been hanging on so long
It's so hard to be all alone
I know you're not that strong, yea, yea
Our love's in jeopardy, baby
Ooooooo
Our love's in jeopardy, baby
Ooooooo
Don't let go
While I'm hanging on
Cuz I've been hanging on so long
It's so hard to be all alone
I know you're not that strong, yea, yea
Our love's in jeopardy, baby
Ooooooo
Our love's in jeopardy, baby
Ooooooo

Lyrics:
We can dance if we want to.
We can leave your friends behind.
Cause' your friend don't dance,
and if they don't dance, well they're
no friends of mine.
Say, we can go where we want to.
A place where they will never find.
And we can act like we come from out of this world.
Leave the real one far behind.
We can dance.
We can go where we want to.
A place where they will never find.
And we can act like we come from out of this world.
Leave the real one far behind.
We can dance.
We can go when we want to.
Night is young and so am I.
And we can dress real neat
from our hands to our feet
and surprise you with a victory cry.
Say, we can act if we want to.
If we don't nobody will.
And you can act real rude,
and totally remove and I can act like an imbecile.
We can dance.
We can dance.
Everything's under control.
We can dance.
We can dance.
Doin it pole to pole.
We can dance.
We can dance.
Everybody look at your hands.
We can dance.
We can dance.
Everybody's takin' the chance.
Safety Dance.
Oh, Safety Dance.
Yes, Safety Dance.
We can dance if we want to.
We've got all your life, and mine.
As long as we abuse it,
Never gonna lose it.
Everything will work out right.
We can dance if we want to.
We can leave your friends behind.
Cause' your friend don't dance,
and if they don't dance, well they're
no friends of mine.
I say, we can dance.
We can dance.
Everything's under control.
We can dance.
We can dance.
Doin it pole to pole.
We can dance.
We can dance.
Everybody look at your hands.
We can dance.
We can dance.
Everybody's takin' the chance.
Dance.
Safety Dance.
Yes Safety Dance.
Safety Dance.
Let's Safety Dance.
Yes, Safety Dance.
Safety Dance.
Let's Safety Dance.
Safety Dance...
Safety Dance...
Safety Dance...
Safety Dance!
Ziggy Marley - Tomorrow People - HD
David "Ziggy" Marley (born 17 October 1968, Trenchtown, Jamaica) is a Jamaican musician and leader of the band Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers. He is the oldest son of famed reggae musician Bob Marley. His father gave him the nickname "Ziggy"; he has stated that it means "a small joint"
In 1979, Ziggy and his siblings, Cedella, Stephen and Sharon made their recording debut with their father, "Children Playing in the Streets". The Melody Makers, as the group came to be known, played occasionally for several years, including at their father's funeral in 1981. Their debut LP was Play the Game Right, which was a very pop-oriented album, earning Ziggy some derision from critics. The band's label, EMI, wanted to market Ziggy as a solo act, and so the Melody Makers moved to Virgin Records, where they recorded Conscious Party (1988, produced by Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth). The album was critically and popularly successful, as was One Bright Day (1989) and Jahmekya (1991).
As the 1990s continued, the Melody Makers' sales slowly declined, beginning with Joy and Blues (1993) and continuing with Free Like We Want 2 B (1995).
Ziggy became politically active, working with the United Nations and creating a record label called Ghetto Youths Crew. A solo album, Dragonfly was released on 15 April 2003. On 2 July 2006, his second solo album, Love Is My Religion, was released on his independent record company Tuff Gong Worldwide. This album won a Grammy for best Reggae album and this was Ziggy's 4th Grammy win. On 5 May 2009, his third solo children's album Family Time, was released on his independent record company Tuff Gong Worldwide. Family Time features Family and Friends, Rita Marley, Cedella Marley, Judah Marley, Paul Simon, Willie Nelson, Jack Johnson, Toots Hibbert, Laurie Berkner, Elizabeth Mitchell and more. This album won a Grammy for "Best Musical Album for Children".
Some of his most popular singles include "True To Myself", "Drive", "People Get Ready", and his US Top 40 and Us Top 20 hit "Tomorrow People".
In April 2011, Marley announced his fourth album, entitled Wild and Free would be released on 14 June. The title track, featuring Woody Harrelson, is available for free with the pre-order of Ziggy's first comic book, "Marijuanaman."
Ziggy Marley is the oldest son of Bob Marley. He is married to Orly Marley, who is a former vice-president of William Morris Agency. He also has 6 children, Daniel Marley, Justice Marley, Zuri Marley, Judah Victoria, Gideon Robert Nesta, and Abraham Selassie Robert Nesta. Most of the family resides in Miami.
The Graflex Graphic 35 Camera
The Graflex Graphic 35 was a 35mm rangefinder camera initially made by Graflex in the U.S. and later by Kowa for Graflex. It was introduced in 1955 as a replacement for the Graflex Ciro 35. Although based on the Ciro 35's basic design, essentially every mechanical part as well as the styling was modified. The camera was focussed by push buttons located on either side of the lens, and the shutter was released by pulling outward on a lever mounted on the front of the camera body. Production ended in 1958.
The Graphic 35 was available with either an f3.5 or f2.8 lens. A Prontor SVS shutter with speeds to 1/300 was used and featured V, X, and M flash synchronization. The rangefinder was of the split image type and used a separate viewfinder from that used to compose the image.

Nikon D4's Mirror, Shutter and Lens Aperture at 1000fps
SEE THE ORIGINAL HERE: http://vimeo.com/39652026
---------------------------------
The Nikon D4: A behemoth and beauty of a camera. See its mirror, shutter and lens aperture operate at 1000fps. (Note: The D4 can shoot stills at 10 FPS; this is referring to the slow-motion video used to capture the D4 in action.) I thought this video was both impressive and humorously "dramatic" with its sharp lighting and overblown sound effects. Take what you want from it.
---------------------------------
Notes from the original uploader (John Engstrom, Vimeo):
Scheimpflug Employees Jason Kolsch, and Jayson Jordan unboxed the Nikon D4 and made a quick movie, capturing it using the Phantom Gold with Zeiss CP2 Macro lenses. The scene was lit with a K5600 Joker 800, and two 400's. Colby Moore was the Phantom Technician and editor. The Nikon D4 is now available for rent at Scheimpflug.

Nikon D3200 Preview
Here for the FULL Press Release:
http://froknowsphoto.com/nikon-d3200-preview/
The Nikon D3200 on paper looks to be an AMAZING beginner camera with a ton of advanced features.
First lets start with the NEW 24.2 megapixel sensor. I am not a big fan of such a large sensor in a beginner camera. This is going to make the RAW files HUGE even though they are compressed and only 12 bit. The ISO range is 100-6400 expandable to 12,800 which again is insane.
The video features seem to be pretty extensive. It will shoot full hd 1080P at 24/30 FPS but you also have the ability to shoot at 60FPS at 720. You do have manual exposure controls during video recording. One item I over looked before I made the video is the fact that it does have a microphone input jack. That is an amazing feature to have if you are looking to do interviews or capture better audio than from the built in microphone. I look at this to be a substantial addition to an entry level camera.
Overal this is a very feature packet beginner camera. If you already own a D3100 do not upgrade to the D3200, it is not the best step forward for your photography. But if you are new to the DSLR game the D3200 would be a great place to start. Like I always say, good glass is important so adding on a Nikon 35 1.8 would be advised.
I may pick one of these cameras up to create a shooting guide for all the people who will be stepping into a DSLR for the first time. It is possible that this camera could serve as a third angle for when I am recording interviews or photo shoots.

Billy Idol - Sweet Sixteen (bnw glamour slideshow)
William Michael Albert Broad (born 30 November 1955), better known by his stage name Billy Idol, is an English rock musician. A member of the Bromley Contingent of Sex Pistols fans, Idol first achieved fame in the punk rock era as a member of the band Generation X. He then embarked on a successful solo career, aided by a series of stylish[citation needed] music videos, making him one of the first MTV stars. Idol continues to tour with guitarist Steve Stevens and has a worldwide fan base.
AC/DC - Get It Hot (glamour slideshow)
AC/DC are an Australian rock band, formed in 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young, who have remained the sole constant members. Commonly classified as hard rock, they are considered pioneers of heavy metal and are sometimes classified as so, though they themselves have always classified their music as simply "rock and roll". To date they are one of the highest grossing bands of all time. AC/DC underwent several line-up changes before releasing their first album, High Voltage, on 17 February 1975. Membership remained stable until bassist Mark Evans was replaced by Cliff Williams in 1977 for the album Powerage. Within months of recording the album Highway to Hell, lead singer and co-songwriter Bon Scott died on 19 February 1980, after a night of heavy alcohol consumption. The group briefly considered disbanding, but Scott's parents urged them to continue and hire a new vocalist. Ex-Geordie singer Brian Johnson was auditioned and selected to replace Scott. Later that year, the band released their highest selling album, and ultimately the third highest-selling album by any artist, Back in Black.
The band's next album, For Those About to Rock We Salute You, was their first album to reach number one in the United States. AC/DC declined in popularity soon after drummer Phil Rudd was fired in 1983 and was replaced by future Dio drummer Simon Wright, though the band resurged in the early 1990s with the release of The Razors Edge. Phil Rudd returned in 1994 (after Chris Slade, who was with the band from 1989--1994, was asked to leave in favour of him) and contributed to the band's 1995 album Ballbreaker. Since then, the band's line-up has remained the same. Stiff Upper Lip was released in 2000 and was well received by critics, and the band's latest studio album, Black Ice, was released on 20 October 2008. It was their biggest hit on the charts since For Those About to Rock, reaching No.1 on all the charts eventually.
As of 2010, AC/DC had sold more than 200 million albums worldwide, as of the releases of their latest albums, Black Ice and the Iron Man 2 soundtrack, including 71 million albums in the United States. Back in Black has sold an estimated 50 million units worldwide, making it the highest-selling album by any band and the second-highest-selling album in history, behind Thriller by Michael Jackson. The album has sold 22 million in the US alone, where it is the fifth-highest-selling album. AC/DC ranked fourth on VH1's list of the "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock" and were named the seventh "Greatest Heavy Metal Band of All Time" by MTV. In 2004, AC/DC were ranked number 72 in the Rolling Stone list of the "100 Greatest Artists of All Time". In 2010, AC/DC were ranked number 23 in the VH1 list of the "100 Greatest Artists of All Time".

Direction of Light and the Effect it has on your Photos
http://greatphotographytips.co.uk
Many people don't even consider it when taking photos, but the direction of light in photography is one of the most important aspects of any picture. Just giving a little thought to the position of the sun before taking the photo can allow you to capture more detail, add depth to your subject and add impact using shadows.
It's simple common sense, and all here in this film, give it a whirl now!

Hurt lyrics - Songwriters: Christina Aguilera, Linda Perry, Mark Ronson
Seems like it was yesterday when I saw your face
You told me how proud you were, but I walked away
If only I knew what I know today, ooh, ooh
I would hold you in my arms, I would take the pain away
Thank you for all you've done, forgive all your mistakes
There's nothing I wouldn't do to hear your voice again
Sometimes I wanna call you but I know you won't be there
Oh, I'm sorry for blaming you
For everything I just couldn't do
And I've hurt myself by hurting you
Some days I feel broke inside but I won't admit
Sometimes I just wanna hide 'cause it's you I miss
And it's so hard to say goodbye when it comes to this, ooh
Would you tell me I was wrong? Would you help me understand?
Are you looking down upon me? Are you proud of who I am?
There's nothing I wouldn't do to have just one more chance
To look into your eyes and see you looking back
Oh, I'm sorry for blaming you
For everything I just couldn't do
And I've hurt myself, oh
If I had just one more day
I would tell you how much that I've missed you
Since you've been away
Oh, it's dangerous
It's so out of line
To try and turn back time
I'm sorry for blaming you
For everything I just couldn't do
And I've hurt myself

"The House of the Rising Sun" is a folk song from the United States. Also called "House of the Rising Sun" or occasionally "Rising Sun Blues", it tells of a life gone wrong in New Orleans. The most successful commercial version was recorded by the English rock group The Animals in 1964, which was a number one hit in the United States, United Kingdom, Sweden, Finland and Canada.
Like many classic folk ballads, the authorship of "The House of the Rising Sun" is unknown. Some musicologists believe it is based on the tradition of broadside ballads such as the "Unfortunate Rake" of the 18th century which were taken to America by early settlers. Many of these had the theme of "if only" and after a period of evolution, they emerge as American songs like "Streets of Laredo".
Alan Price of The Animals has claimed that the song was originally a sixteenth-century English folk song about a Soho brothel, and that English emigrants took the song to America where it was adapted to its later New Orleans setting.
The oldest known existing recording is by Appalachian artists Clarence Ashley and Gwen Foster and was made in 1933. Ashley said he had learned it from his grandfather, Enoch Ashley. Alger "Texas" Alexander's "The Risin' Sun," recorded in 1928, is sometimes mentioned as the first recording, but is a completely different song.

The Leica S2 First Look - stevehuffphoto.com
Just a quick first look at the Leica S2 Digital Camera. The S2 is a special one and I guess it should be at $22,000 for the body only. Leica sent me one for review so I will be heading out for a few days to shoot the camera. My full review will be up on the site within 7-10 days and will include a ton of image samples and full size downloads as well as some crazy comparisons.
This is one hell of a camera!

LYRICS:
i'm not going anywhere without you
you don't understand how much i have to lose
cuz you don't see the wreckage that you leave
when you hide yourself away from me
you tell me not to close the doors
cuz the windows aren't enough
escapism ain't your forte, babe
i could teach you but it's tough
and i don't want to
refuse to help you go
i need to keep you
it's selfishness, i know
it's been a good four or five years
and after all this time i'm still right here
it'd be a long way home
and we didn't mark the path back
too long for the fresh tracks
maybe you're weary and i feel
like i'm losing my grip but hope is near
we won't find it alone
and we didn't mark the path back
too long for the fresh tracks
don't know how much faster i can run
but i have to keep on keeping up
cuz i can't let you get so far away
that you find your mind and make it change
you're holding out your arms for me
but you always pull away
glue them to your side
pretend you've got nothing to say
cuz you're too scared to
but baby you're just glass
to me, just see through
when you put on your act
it's been a good four or five years
and after all this time i'm still right here
it'd be a long way home
and we didn't mark the path back
too long for the fresh tracks
maybe you're weary and i feel
like i'm losing my grip but hope is near
we won't find it alone
and we didn't mark the path back
too long for the fresh tracks
there's a light so close that i
can feel it radiate
there's a fire burning in my heart
you'll be the one to block the wind
oh, if you just stay
one more chance for the jumpstart
it's been a good four or five years
and after all this time i'm still right here
it'd be a long way home
and we didn't mark the path back
too long for the fresh tracks
maybe you're weary and i feel
like i'm losing my grip but hope is near
we won't find it alone
and we didn't mark the path back
too long for the fresh tracks

Nikon D4 mini review: Viewfinder Improvements
Apologies for this very quick and brief video, but I wanted to show a couple of viewfinder enhancements on the Nikon D4 as part of my blog review:
http://www.richardpeters.co.uk/blog/2012/04/13/nikon-d4-vs-d3s-initial-review-and-comparison/
I don't have a huge amount of time at the moment - hence the slight rush job and ramming the iPhone down the D4 viewfinder to film the view! But it works better than images would have.

Sadness is one of four interconnected sentiments in the system of Alexander Faulkner Shand, the others being fear, anger, and joy. In this system, when an impulsive tendency towards some important object is frustrated, the resultant sentiment is sorrow. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
